Review of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978) by Al H — 21 Dec 2012
Even worse than I remembered. Saving graces: Steve Martin as "Maxell" (of the silver hammer) and a shockingly-young Aerosmith as the bad guys. Billy Preston's okay too. Otherwise, a textbook case against rock musicals, Beatles remakes, and mainstream seventies culture in general.
I loved it when I was 10, maybe because I had never heard most of the Beatles' songs before.
