Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Ernest C — 19 Jul 2010
This filmâ??s importance in film history cannot be understated. It combines elements of action films now considered standard-a group recruited to complete a shared task, a reluctant hero, a romance between a hero and one of those he is protecting, and even the sense that those who win never really win.
It is a film that may not excite the same way modern (action) films excite, but one cannot but marvel at its superb creation.
