Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Jj M — 29 Apr 2011
One of my all time favorite movies, Seven Samurai is a work of great candor, heart and sensitivity. An enduring work of subtle art that remains as poignant today as it did 56 years ago.
Its three hour length never drags. Toshiro Mifune particularly brilliant here, playing a volatile and unpredictable samurai warrior Kikuchiyo . Seven Samurai continues to be one of the most influential films of all time. If you love cinema, you need to see this film asap.
