The group action adventure film that has influenced so many genres, including westerns, Star Wars, and many others. It's filled with great moments, and goes deeper into the emotions of the characters than Hollywood ever dares.
It also achieves a level of realism that is unsurpassed. (as if this probably happened somewhere in that time).
