Review of Set It Off (1996) by James B — 28 Aug 2010
This movie had a unique premise. 4 African American women decide that life is not worth working for so they decide to rob banks. The first 45 minutes in this film are really boring, but the 2nd half of the film is good.
You understand their madness with one of the girls brother who gets wrongly killed, another gets her kid taken away, one gets fired from her job, and one is just a druggie and a screwup. I was surprised by the ending.
I did not expect 3 of the robbers to be shot to death. Other than that check out this film as well as The Score, Heist and Heat for a good crime/bank robbery type of film.
