Review of Serpico (1973) by Stephen E — 26 Apr 2012
"Serpico" is indeed a great and engrossing crime film. Al Pacino's standout performance as the titular character is mainly what to watch for, but there are other great aspects as well, such as the gritty urban locations and fine cinematography.
The script has its share of problems and a lot of relationships amongst characters are undercooked, and the score often doesn't mix well with the action, but I had a great time watching "Serpico.
" Great work from Lumet.
