Review of Serpico (1973) by Anna B — 22 Feb 2014
It's almost comical how squeaky clean and heroic Serpico remains throughout the whole movie. I could have done with a little bit of grey in there. But that's not a huge deal. And Pacino isn't as cartoonish as I was expecting, and the few scenes where he goes off the rails are understandable considering the character's frustrations.
I just love the way Sidney Lumet directs movies. You feel every shot and every cut right down in your balls.
