Review of Serenity (2015) by Cam C — 20 Feb 2014
I can't find much fault with this film. It is extremely underrated for its rich dialogue, its talented cast and, of course, its unique humor. Fans of the series will love this but I think Serenity also works on its own.
Though set at a much faster pace than Firefly, with a strong emphasis on action, the film often heavily relies on its actors to get the audience through so they don't get lost, and I think it's to Whedon's credit the film holds itself together. Under anyone elses care it would have surely failed.
If only certain loose ends weren't left untied. Serenity is an achievement in film making, an engaging and invoking movie with a lot of heart. And I love it to bits.
