Review of Serenity (2005) by Ted S — 25 May 2014

With just amazing world-building, strong character development, involving story and entertaining action sequences, Serenity is reminiscent to Dune and many other works in terms of storytelling, but similar to Abrams' Star Trek in terms of its strengths and flaws - this is a masterfully scripted,reasonably original and highly imaginative world, but the one in which you might get lost if you are not a fan already resulting in the first thirty minutes or so of absolute and annoying failure to get invested in the story.
