Ah, 1996, the year every single Best Picture nominee, including this one, was better than The English Patient. I like Mike Leigh films anyway, and this is a strong example of his work. Really great acting, a solid storyline, and solid direction and photography.
it's too bad it is virtually impossible to see this film legally.
