Review of Secretariat (2010) by Adam S — 21 Mar 2013
Secretariat might have been the greatest race horse who ever lived, but this film adaptation is a piece of Disney fluff that can pass the time but won't stay in the memory.
Diane Lane plays Penny Chenery well, but John Malkovich looks very much like he's just going through the motions in this film, where the stakes are never too high. Even someone like me, whos entire knowledge of horse-racing involves Phar Lap (Australian schools seemed to like that horse), held no doubts over the outcome of this film.
Sports dramas are usually better.
