Awesome movie, mort rainey (johnny depp) is a writer that lives alone in a lake house after he split up with his wife. it all starts when a weird stranger by the name of shooter comes knocking on mort's door and tells mort that he stole his story which he presents to him, mort denies this and shuts the door on him, but when mort reads shooters story it's word for word the same accept for the ending, as the film goes on he keeps getting visits from shooter demanding mort to put things right or there will be consequences.

I can't really say anymore than that really just watch it, it's a classic thriller!
