Review of Secret Window (2004) by Michelle N — 30 Mar 2012
A bit of an under the radar movie for Johnny Depp in my opinion and not one I knew about until prompted. 30 minutes into the movie I saw a lot of similarities to 'Alan Wake' the console game and the idea how an idea or character in a book you've wrote actually comes to life, haunts you or is a part of your thoughts.
Depp's appearance in this is one of a 'bum', evidence like dishes left around, walking around in a tattered bathrobe, smoking, drinking, messy hair and being secluded in a log cabin just to work or write in his case.
The movie has got a slight twist in it and if you're into the thriller genre, sleepy distant towns or the 'Twin Peaks' feel then this may foot the bill.
