Adapting a Stephen King novel/short story/novella is never easy. You walk a fine line bewteen making something good and satisfying the legions of his fans. For me, Secret Window IS a good adaptaion of the story 'Secret window secret garden'.
The film version may have changed the ending to the book, but for me it's still a solid b-movie mainly thanks to Johnny Depp and a very terrifying John Turturro as John Shooter. The film is classic King storytelling and a good watch.
