Review of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) by Henry F — 27 May 2014
A word to describe this film that everyone can agree with is unique. It's definitely like nothing I've seen before, Edgar Wright truly is a master of comedy. The way it's made and how it looks is a huge part of what makes this film so great, it's slick and wastes no time getting to the places it wants to be. Although I feel like the first half is slightly stronger than the second, the strange, almost surreal tone is fantastic and the jokes are fluid and consistent throughout, and are very, very smart and funny in places.
There are a few awkward moments and small hiccups, but this is one of the films I could watch over and over again, it's ridiculous how entertaining it is.
