Review of Scoop (1996) by Aidan D — 04 Dec 2008
"Scoop" Is A Work of Genius Filmmaking From The Brilliant Woody Allen. Allen's Script Is Smart And Witty, And The Performances Are Wonderful. Hugh Jackman Is Amazing As Peter Lyman, The Handsome Businessman Who Is Suspected To Be The Tarot Card Killer. Scarlett Johansson Is Phenomenal As The Young Journalist, Sondra Pransky, Who Is Informed By A Deceased UK Journalist About The Killers Identity. Sondra Befriends Peter And Begins To Fall In Love With Him, In Spite of The Fact That He May Be The Tarot Card Killer. Woody Allen Is The Wacky Magician Sid Waterman, Who Helps Sondra With Her Investigation. Ian McShane Is The UK Journalist Who Contacts Sondra From Beyond The Grave. Woody Allen's "Scoop" Is A Classic Comedy, And An Intelligent Mystery. Its Funny, Witty, And Unpredictable. A Superb Work of Pure Genius. Brilliant In All Aspects. Its Nearly Impossible To Describe The Pure Brilliance of This Film. Its A Sinfully Clever And Devilishly Funny Comedy Thriller. Everything About This Film Is Amazing. "Scoop" Is A Masterwork. An Original Cinematic Experience Unlike Any Other. Few Films Are As Compelling, Intelligent, And Original As This One. "Scoop" Is Brilliant. A Wonderful, Wonderful Film.*.
"When An Inquisitive College Journalist Stumbles Upon New Clues To A String of Murders, Her Investigation Leads Directly To A Handsome Businessman, Who Draws Her In With His Mysterious Charm. Could A Whirlwind Romance With The Subject of Her Search Also Become The Most Dangerous Scoop of A Lifetime?"*.
"Maybe he's just doing something he's ashamed of, like maybe he belongs to these clubs where he dresses up as a crossdresser, or maybe he does folk dancing!"*.
Woody Allen As Sid Waterman In "Scoop".
