Review of Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster (2010) by Ethan D — 24 Dec 2010
Now, here we go. Finally a live action Scooby-Doo movie that is a truly enjoyable experience and is really close to the cartoon. And when I say close to the cartoon, I mean close to the cartoon. No more cheesy plot lines about rare stamps, no more having to deal with real monsters, no more ripping off the plot to Scooby-Doo Night of 100 Frights, just good ol' fashioned Scooby-Doo in live action.
Cartoony Sound effects? Check. Chase scene where you go in and out random doors? Check. Disguising yourselves as mannequins to get the bad guy off your tail? Check. Daphne almost being grabbed before casually walking away without even hearing the monster? Checkarooney.
In fact, we have it so perfectly that they use pop songs from the fifties and sixties. This movie is definitely worth a watch sometime soon.
