I haven't seen the first one with this crew, I saw the two first movies, the ones with this crew must be prequels to those.
My kid's liked this one, it wasn't too scary and there where many fun elements and scenes and a lot for them to understand without it being to childish.
Me on the other hand, didn't like it all that much, yes I am not in the target group, and yes there were things for the adults, but I have grown very custom to seeing cartoons/animations with my kids that are equally fun for children and the adults that are accompany them in seeing it, and this doesn't deliver that much for the adults in this case.
Well my kids loved it and that was the most importent thing, so I will give it stars from their perspective.
