Review of Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster (2010) by Rider F — 25 Aug 2012
Out of all the live action films, this felt closest to a cartoon (for better or worse). It felt a bit jarring to have "music videos" in the middle, but looking at the picture above they may not have been in the original TV version, so maybe that worked better? The song at the end worked better, particularly when they swapped outfits.
The cast do a decent job, and they seem more comfortable in their roles this time around. Plot-wise, I spent a lot of the time cringing, but it did actually have some valid advice about romance; in particular, it's a bad idea to shoehorn someone into a particular role just because they're there.
