Review of Scent of a Woman (1992) by Jake W — 05 Sep 2009
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this film, but I ended up loving it. I can now call it one of my favorites...
The film centers around a prep school student named Charlie Simms (Chris O'Donnell) taking care of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade (Al Pacino) who is blind. The two go to New York City and develop a strong friendship...
Definitely a surprisingly good film. I still don't think Al Pacino deserved an Oscar for it - just because I think Robert Downey, Jr. should have won that year - but he was still great and would have been Oscar worthy in most any other year.
Highly recommended.
