Review of Scarface (1983) by Chris G — 04 Oct 2014
Brian DePalma paints a vivid picture of the rise and fall of Tony Montana, and does it with grace and resonance. Al Pacino gives, in my opinion, the greatest performance of his career, completely engrossing himself in the persona of a man who wants to be the man and is willing to kill to get there.
Combined with an array of characters that are believable and emotion that has to be seen to be believed, Scarface certainly deserves preservation in the Library of Congress.
