Review of Scarface (1932) by Eugene L — 01 Aug 2012
I'm sure this movie could've been rated as a 4 or 5 star in its time, but that time isn't now. It's Ok but not much more than that. As far as a mob, gangster, or drug movie it falls well below Godfather, Blow, Goodfellas, etc. The character arc of Tony Montana is brilliant, horrific, and heartbreaking. It's worth seeing only to kno.
W for yourself all the references made to the movie, but in actuality the character of Tony Montana is greater than the movie.
