One of the most iconic crime films ever and an update to the original thirties' crime film, this one about the rise and fall of a Cuban former convict and the metaphorical tale of the American dream gone wrong.

Though more widely acknowledgd than the original film by Hawks, De Palma's vision tends to lack perfection in its balance. It's still great, violent, gory and meaningful, in fact its impact still reverberates in cinema.

Some of its sequences are especially iconic. But the real winner in this film is Pacino, with a powerhouse memorable performance that can be counted among the best of an already illustrious career.
