Review of Sawdust and Tinsel (1953) by Roberto R — 27 Nov 2007
This is a great film from bergman's early period. It is a beautifully crafted film, in rhythm, characters, and cinematography. Lots of wonderfull close shots and the lighting is spectacular. Also, the modernist soundtrack compliments the film perfectly, adding to the anxiety of the charcaters.
One of the best early Bergman I've seen and it's a shame that it wasn't more recognized at the time.
