Review of Saw III (2006) by Arianna M — 21 May 2011
Most people see "Saw III" as the point when the series started to head south. While I do agree with them, because it is not as enjoyable as "Saw" or "Saw II", I still think it is watchable and not horrible.
The biggest difference I found this time around was the pacing. "Saw III" is the longest "Saw" movie and it just drags on and on. Watching the Director's Cut didn't help matters much since most of the scenes don't really add much to the story, though they certainly expand it.
The other parts of the film are still solid: the characters, the traps, and the gore (which is at an all time high). The first time I watched it I enjoyed it a lot more than the second time. If you really like the series and want to watch the rest of them than I recommend it, but you won't be missing out too much if you just stick to the first two films.
