Review of Saving Face (2004) by Wendy C — 09 Nov 2007
I studied the film in my Asian American studies class last year. A pretty good film. The beginning is a little rough: the acting isn't clean imo, and the opening dialogue feels as though it came out of one of those scu culture shows.
The focus of the humor in the film seems to revolve around chinese traditions in contemporary America. Many of the jokes had me Laughing Out Loud as I watched it alone in my room.
The film features unconventional plot devices that compensate for the less-than-outstanding acting and dialogue.
