Review of Savages (2006) by Robert I — 31 Dec 2012
Some really top performances from Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney are the highlight in an otherwise rather uncomfortable film. Uncomfortable in that the movie is so believable at times, you feel as though you're right there in the moment with them, experiencing every (sad) moment.
With this in mind, it's not exactly an uplifting movie (aside from the final scene which I enjoyed) - nor does it have to be - but I wasn't exactly jumping out of my seat with anticipation as the movie wore on.
Not a movie I'll be re-visiting, but I'm glad I've seen it.
