Review of Satyricon (1969) by Adrian B — 29 May 2011
Of the Fellini films I have so far seen, this is one of the most wildest, bizarrest, peculiar of the lot. Describing the plotline is no small task. I suppose its about the...no can't describe it. I will however say this.
This is one the gayest (homosexual) movies I have ever seen in recent times. There are some very odd scenes, especially when the main character Ephorius sleeps with a boy a few years younger then him.
He also has a threesome at one point. This is film so unbelievably loosely structured, Fellini must have said to everyone to just break loose. It is a film you will love or hate. I didn't love or hate it, but I did like it.
I thought it was funny, entertaining, colourful, and pretty ambitious.
