Review of Saturday Night Fever (1977) by Ross M — 20 Jan 2012
Avoided this for years as I assumed it was a cheesy disco movie but after finally watching it I stand corrected. The disco scenes are obviously what the film is best known for but at its grittier core it portrays life in 70s New York almost just as well as the likes of Mean Streets, The French Connection, and other classic NYC films of the era.
