Review of Saturday Night Fever (1977) by Salomon D — 03 Jan 2018
I am almost 50 years old; and I have never seen this movie completely. I grew up in the 80's. I love heavy metal. classic rock etc... not much into disco music, but! This movie rocks! I finally gave it a shot (lol, 30 years later) and I loved it. This is not a movie about disco! Is about a boy (19 years old) who is shunned by his parents because of his more "sucessful" first child (who is a Priest) and the ways he finds to be noticed.
He loves to dance, he does not do drugs and he gets a high of doing what he loves. He falls in love and he goes thru the pitfalls of what love is...
He has friends but he does not like that his friends do not have the same ethics he has. He is a smart, hard worker who appreciates his job and is appreciative of his boss.. He is honest (he gives away his biggest price 'cause he knows his adversaries did better) and he has a soul.
Holy cow... never expected this from this movie...
MOHO.
5 stars.
