Review of Sarah's Key (2010) by Erol Y — 20 Apr 2012
Sarah's Key manages to rise above the sort of misery-porn and cheap drama that Holocaust films can sometimes fall back on. Instead, it's powerfully compelling, emotionally authentic, and thought provoking. The drama is executed excellently, with great performances throughout, especially from the reliable Kristin Scott Thomas. Some of the sub-plots could perhaps have been cut, but the narrative revolving around Sarah was very strong and moving, making Sarah's Key engrossing, poignant, and memorable.
4/5 Stars.
