Review of Sarah's Key (2010) by Rebecca C — 08 Jan 2013
Sarah's Key tries to prove a simple premise: even the most terrible atrocities will be forgotten over just a few generations, but the stories lost could incalcubly enrich our present. So we follow a journalist investigating the story of Sarah, a young Jewish French girl living in Paris in 1942.
The weaving of two story strands is successful to begin with although after a while I started to get talking-head fatigue and found myself eager to get back to the much more engaging holocaust epic playing out in occupied France.
