Review of Santa Sangre (1989) by Jack G — 18 Nov 2007
Hasn't gotten the midnight movie revival treatment like El Topo and Holy Mountain, and it should, as it might be Joodorowsky's best film- an anarcho-surrealist with just enough restraint to tell a story while tearing down the fabric of cinema itself.
Trivia fact: the sword killing, with the blade coming down the guy's back, was (lovingly) ripped off for a similar scene in Pulp Fiction.
