Review of Sanctum (2011) by Brandon W — 06 Jul 2011
When it's less then 5 minutes into a movie and your rolling your eyes at the awful dialog, that's not a good sign. Sanctum is one of those movies that seems fabricated and phoney from it's very first frame.
From it's banal dialog, to it's wooden characters, to it's perfect cinematography, it always feels like a production and thus, never draws us in. We never care about the characters because they never seem like real people, nor are any particularly likeable.
Even when in dire peril, we just don't care. And as for their peril, again, the situations seemed forced and phoney as if the dangers was specifically created because someone felt it was time for something perilous to occur at that point.
Overall, Sanctum is a boring and uninvolving thriller without any thrills.
