Review of Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto (1954) by Tom D — 27 Jan 2013
Part one of the Samurai Trilogy, and I didn't know what to expect. What I should have expected, at least from Mifune, was a powerful, believable performance. The movie mainly feels like a setup for the other two, which isn't a bad thing.
And it also gives the vibe that it was the inspiration for nearly every epic trilogy to come after it. Lots of excitement, coupled with some humorous and tender moments. Yep, my biased opinion loved it.
