Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by David T — 07 Jan 2008
An intresting low budget war movie, without the mass money spent on it like say Saving Private Ryan you were never gonna get awsome effects but what this film does to counter that is rather clever...it looks at the way the war has effected the individual soldiers after a masacre of U.
S G.I's in the Arden Forrest (the Arden was depicted pefectly in T.V series Band Of Brothers , vital viewing!!!) It uses spooky vision's of ghostly figures, made up from the minds of the shellshocked troops which seem to fllow every move.
This is never gonna blow your mind like the first time you saw Saving Private Ryan but what a great attempted to making something diffrent and original on such a small budget. War Movie fans will enjoy this.
