Review of Safety Last! (1923) by Garrett C — 26 May 2011

I am in absolute awe at how utterly brilliant this film is. The intensity of the climbing scene is unmatched. This is one of those pictures were you are smiling and laughing through the whole thing. As many times before, lying sets up the comedic drama when The Boy sends letters to his girlfriend telling of his success.

This sets up for several moments of comedy genius and ends up forcing The Boy to do a ridiculous climb up a building that will have you squirming harder than you thought you could. Clocking in at only an hour and fifteen minutes, this is a short film that will stay with you much longer than the runtime.
