Lloyd was not as funny as Chaplin. But that's an unfair comparison, because no one was, or is. His films were nevertheless hysterically funny, original, and brilliant in their own right. In the classic "Safety Last," Lloyd re-assumes the role of a hapless, socially awkward naif with ambitions far outmatching his abilities.
