3: I remember not being a big fan when I first saw this years ago. It still isn't exactly a favorite, but I have come around. The cast and performances are superb. The story is a nice little riff on many that have come before it.
I'd say there have been a number of remakes/homage's/copies done in recent years as well (think Billy Bob Thornton pictures for example). Anderson definitely has a unique vision of America. I notice the line "with friends like you who needs friends" appear in Friends with Benefits recently as well (or at least something very close to it).
Pretty funny.
