Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Jon C — 03 Jul 2018
It's a step down from the original and may resemble more 'Lost World' than anything but director JA Bayona still brings the thrills of the franchise to life with those ever loving dinosaurs.
Picking up 3 years after the park fell into chaos the island is about to be decimated by volcanic activity and Claire and a few associates want to help take the animals to safety.
With Owen they also plan to rescue Blue, his trained velociraptor.
Unfortunately the company Lockwood has a shady agenda much like Ingen where they plan to sell and weaponize the dinosaurs.
With this movie we enter the more shady world of the rich and the elite and seeing how these things normally go it's only a matter of time before it becomes a Fallen Kingdom.
The cast of humans are fine if mostly forgettable and even Jeff Goldblum makes a cool yet short return begging everyone that these creatures should die off or we risk extinction ourselves.
A good metaphor for asking if endangered species should survive or not.
The Indoraptor is by far my fav creature although doesn't show up until halfway through.
By the end it certainly is a new world where humans and dinosaurs may have to co-exist with one another.
The eruption scene looks very impressive and the end battle is full of suspense.
Who knows what the next installment will involve?
I hope more awesome dinosaurs!
