Review of Runaway Train (1985) by Gene A — 07 Feb 2011
This suspenseful film based on a screenplay by Akira Kurosawa is one of the better "prison break" films I've seen. Jon Voight and Eric Roberts received Oscar nods for their excellent performances as a hardened escapee and a young wannabe tough guy (respectively).
The barren harsh landscape of the Alaskan tundra is well captured in this well told, exceptionally performed film.
