Oodles of charm and a standout performance from Warren Beatty combine to produce an entertaining if somewhat slight affair that has moments of verging on soap. However with the added heft of Annette Bening in a minor role and the two leads LIly Collins and Alden Ehrenreich nicely underplaying the love interest the whole thing sparkles along in a pleasant if pretty undemanding way.
