Review of Ruby Sparks (2012) by Moya W — 02 Jul 2014
I was honestly a bit disappointed when I found out that Zoe Kazan wrote the script as well. I really want to like her since she's such a great actress but I just can't find myself to like directors and screenwriters who starr in their own movies.
Other than that it was still an enjoyable comedy about a writer who creates his dreamgirl who then comes to life. This movie plays with perfection. Can life ever be perfect? Can a person ever be perfect? We're human, we're always going to find peoples' flaws, no matter how perfect they might seem to be. So maybe it's just better to accept them for their imperfections instead of trying to change them into something else because they'll probably never be able to live up to our expectations anyway. A story about perfection and change. It was good and entertaining even though it felt a bit long at times, it could have been a little shorter but other than that it was an enjoyable comedy that's worth a watch.
