Review of Rubber (1936) by Craig W — 30 Aug 2011
Loved the intro with the sheriff, love the fact Jack Plotnick from The Mentalist was "the accountant" and that Fat Neil from Community was also in the audience watching on and I loved the absurdity of the premise.
The idea that this was all just a movie within a movie or some kind of experiment was great with us as the audience watching another audience watching the events unfold, I loved the tire and how it did little things like drink from a puddle etc. The part where the audience is all killed off and so the sheriff reveals to everyone that this is all fake and they can go home was great but because one audience member still lived they had to continue on.
The effects were average, the head exploding I mean was rather budget but it was probably supposed to be that way. I loved the ending too where the tire is reincarnated and takes an army of tires to storm Hollywood was brilliant. I can see why people think this is crap but I really, really enjoyed it a lot.
