Review of Rubber (1936) by Tristan M — 27 Aug 2014
One of the most wierd and dumb movies problably ever made. The idea plot and idea makes no sense whatsoever but its awesome! Who thinks of this kinda stuff? But besides the most original and cool plot ever, the movie really sucks.
The first 20 minutes went on for eternity as absolutely nothing happens besides the tire rolling around in th desert. It then proceeds to blow up living creatures, people and animals with his mind powers.
Seriously this movie is just one long WTF moment. It shows an audience who stand in th desert with binoculars and watch the tire kill stuff, and as far as their concerned its a movie. Most of them are then poisoned by the host who comes by every day to wake them up in the mornings.
The cops then try to kill the tire by making it blow itself up, for the sake of the movie and the fact that one man in the audience whos in a wheelchair didn't eat the food and die. But they are unsuccessful and the main cop simply shoots it.
But for no reason whatsoever after the tire is killed a tricycle rolls out of the building and blows up the man in the wheelchair. It then travels to a town, where along the way more living tires join him.
So the movie made absolutely no sense, which is the point of it I guess, and besides the idea, the movie sucked. The only decent thing done in this low budget movie is the showing of exploding animals and people's heads.
