Review of Good Time (2017) by Tatsuhito K — 03 Sep 2017
"Good Time" is a very impressive piece of work and I think this is Robert Pattinson's career-best performance to date. Fans of Twilight might get shocked by how unrecognizable he is in here, and rightly so, as he plays Constantine, a lowlife New Yorker who drags his mentally handicapped brother into a robbery.
Pattinson, who has been challenging himself by working with interesting directors since his Twilight days, is absolutely mesmerizing and completely disappears into the role. While his character is despicable, his charisma is what makes us get through some of the hideous acts this man commits.
Packed with well-crafted, fast-paced chase sequences, great synthesizer score, and interesting social commentary, the Safdie brothers skillfully deliver a non-stop adrenaline ride of a film. It is one of the best films of 2017.
It'll knock you out.
