Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Tatsuhito K — 17 Jan 2018
Craig Gillespie's "I, Tonya" is a very strange, darkly funny look into the life of Tonya Harding. During the course of 2 hours and 1 minute, I found myself caring about Tonya, sympathizing with her, and absolutely despising her for her action and behavior.
Seriously, I can't remember the last time a film had me on this strange emotional roller coaster ride. For my money, Margot Robbie, Sebastian Stan, and Allison Janney all deserve an Oscar nomination for their performances.
Although I found all the fake interview footage somewhat distracting and the CGI Margot Robbie face is just awful, I really enjoyed its unique take on Harding's life.
