Review of Rope (1948) by Thomas L — 03 Jun 2010
After enjoying this even more the third time around, it's time to up the rating to the highest point. Film is art, and this deserves to be in the louvre. The ambitiousness is not limited by the single set, and jimmy stewart's introduction and closing speech display some of the best writing ever put to film.
The camera work propels the action forward and the way it suggests the presence of the departed is chilling to say the least.
