Review of Rope (1948) by Tor M — 07 Mar 2018
A classic Alfred Hitchcock film with lots of cool techincal stuff and trivia. Two young men kill a friend of theirs in the opening scene. Then they directly throw a party, while the dead guy is still warm, lying somewhere hidden in the living room - the perfect plan for getting away with it.
There is only ten scenes here, many of them last for nearly ten minutes, the shortes ones are about five mintues long. It all goes down in real time and there are some really smart cutting here. Cool conversations and great characters.
I won't go on for long with this one. It's a stylich, smart and short film - done in the classic Hitchcock matter. Never dull, never boring.
7.5 out of 10 DRINKS.
