Review of Rope (1948) by Lynne N — 30 Sep 2012
An excellent masterclass in building suspense from the master himself. Hitchcock takes a very simple (albeit slightly unbelievable) premise and using only one set, a small cast and a limited number of shots, he still manages to deliver a story that is compelling and intense.
It's always great to see the Director working with two of his favourite muses as well - James Stewart and Farley Granger.
